My staff and I would like to send a heart felt THANK YOU to all of the scientists that joined us for summer camps, assemblies, seminars and workshops this summer!
Trying to amuse kids that are usually academically stimulated at school are year can be TOUGH, especially in Southern California when the temp are this high and your kids need some time indoors.
SUMMER CAMPS!Summer is here, and the time is right, for summer learning to begin. We are in full swing for our City of Santa Clarita Summer Camp Program. We are fully staffed, and the kids are having a great time learning about magic versus science during Carnival Camps. Check it out! If your class is looking for STEAM integrated lessons to make learning hands-on, let me tell you how In-School field trips are fast and easy to book! This week I was in a classroom teaching lessons about minerals that involved magnets. We talked about the make-up of the earths core, how magnets are sourced, load stones and how positive and negative poles apply to pull and push/repel and attract, and all 33 students were able to make and take their own Spirograph magnetic mazes as well as magnetic poles to show their friends and family. Giving students the opportunity to bring their creative experiments home to display, discuss and play always lead to a greater understanding of the applied curriculum. The at-home application is so important to allow these young scientists to continue learning while they use the vocabulary to describe their work and their exciting lessons with family and friends.
City of Santa Clarita residents, don't miss out on your chance to book educational and fun camps for your child over spring break.
