Science vocabulary can be fun and exciting. Hands-on learning really helps the kids to remember the meaning of the words. Today's lesson was chock full of new science words and the students had the opportunity to immediately touch and see what we were talking about. Part of today's lesson involved creating a graph so that the kids could observe and track what was happening inside of the test tubes. We had a great time learning how to measure and track the progress. It always amazes me what knowledge the kids already have, and watch them light up when they see how that also applies to that days science lesson! These kids are great and it's always a blast at West Creek Academy. Thanks for having me!
One of the most rewarding experiences I have had doing shows was at a Senior Center here in Southern California. Re-awakening the imagination of golden agers is such a fantastic feeling.
One of my favorite events involved bringing out my Tesla coil. The minute I said the name "Nikola Tesla" one of the senior women that was casually enjoying the show lit up. It turns out that she was originally from Austria and this was a subject of immense pride and joy. She practically became part of the show and the room was aglow from the coil and her excitement. |
